Roland Akabzaa has over eight years of work experience in development with tremendous with tremendous practical knowledge of both qualitative and qualitative research on social and economic issues, monitoring and evaluation, project management, institutional assessment and advocacy and campaigns. He hasworked with both local and international professionals in the field of development and have made research presentations in many conferences, seminars and workshops both home and abroad. The core areas of my work include education, governance, gender, budget, poverty, anti-corruption, trade and agriculture.

He has employed qualitative methods (such as focused group discussions, in-depth interviews, observations, Community Score Cards, participatory appraisal methods, etc.); and quantitative research methods (including questionnaires in conducting surveys and census, etc.) in many of his researches. He has used SPSS for analysis of quantitative data and Atlas Ti for qualitative data. He has also been involved in community assessment of services, using Participatory Rural Appraisal and Participatory Poverty Assessment methods including the use of Community Score Card.
