- Prior to this, he worked primarily as an academic from 1984-99, publishing his findings in the international academic press.

Gilbert has had work experiences in the mining sector of Ghana, lectured in finance and management at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, GIMPA. Gilbert provides consultancy services for IFC and several organizations and SMEs in Ghana, developing business plans to help them raise capital and implement their business strategies. He has had many years of experience in conducting management training programs and workshops for companies in Ghana and abroad.
