WACSI and OSIWA Liberia Programme organised an organisational strengthening training workshop on "Corporate Governance" for civil society organisations (CSOs) in Liberia from the 6-9 July 2009. The workshop attracted about 21 executive directors and board memebrs of civil society organisations. The overall objective of the workshop was to institutionalise effective and efficient implementation of professional governance standards and practices.
The training workshop covered the following themes:Understanding civil society organisations; Introduction to Corporate Governance; Building effective Boards and Management teams; Legal and Regulatory Issues ; Accountability, Legitimacy and Transparency in CSO and Human Resource Management
The Institute has a resource centre that is open to civil society actors in the region. It serves as a library of civil society documents, research reports and edited volumes that are accessible to both individuals and organisations. The Institute has partnered the Foundation Centre to provide online learning resources and a database of grant giving institutions in the United States of America.
