WACSI Extends its Training Courses Beyond Ghana's Shores
May 2018 marked a significant milestone for WACSI. For the first time in the Institute’s history, it held a fee-paying training course outside the shores of Ghana, specifically, in Nigeria. This was in response to the need identified during the formulation of our new 2018-2022 strategy. Our partners and beneficiaries stressed the important and utility of bringing our trainings closer to home for them, and that was exactly what we did.
Our Results-Based Monitoring & Evaluation and Communicating Impact training was held in Abuja, Nigeria from 14-18 May 2018. The import of the training was to equip civil society professionals and activists with the tools and skills to not only track and monitor the performance of their programmes but also communicate the impact of the said programmes on the lives of their beneficiaries.
“Before now, writing was an issue for me, but after the training, I realized that writing was not bad at all,” confessed one participant, “I had to write a success story in 1 hour!! I also had an issue with the result chain logic, but now I understand the logic well.”
The Institute is delighted with the success and reception of its first fee-paying course outside of Ghana and looks forward to many more, especially the upcoming Results-Based Monitoring & Evaluation and Communicating Impact training in Abidjan, 24-28 September 2018.
WACSI is dedicated to strengthening civil society organisations, movements and activists to deliver on their mandates, contributing to a West Africa where development is driven by its people.
