2015 Mid-Term Trainings: Assessment Report
The current midterm assessment exercise seeks to examine the application and benefits of the knowledge and skills learnt from WACSI’s programmes implemented in 2015. This includes incountry and regional training programmes implemented under the coordination of the Programmes Units. These involve in-house training programmes (fee-paying training) as well as demand-driven and funded programmes the Institute carried out during the period under review.
In 2015, twenty (20) capacity strengthening programmes were delivered.
West Africa drug policy training toolkit: Facilitation guide
The West Africa drug policy training toolkit has been developed by the International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC) to build the capacity of civil society organisations in the region and to help them engage with, and influence, drug policy making processes.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has recently completed a lengthy process of developing a regional conflict prevention framework to guide the conceptualisation, implementation and evaluation of conflict prevention initiatives in the Commission and Member States. This framework signifies the actualisation that preventing conflicts is an integral foundation for regional integration and development.
Training Toolkit on the Responsibility to Protect (RtoP)
To be considered development-relevant, a policy intervention such as the Responsibility to Protect (RtoP or R2P) doctrine must be able to answer the following questions:
- What is the policy all about?
- When is the intervention necessary?
- Why does it merit any attention?
- What changes are expected from the intervention?
- Who benefits from such changes at the end of it all?
