5-day Training on Mass Atrocities Prevention (MAP) for CSOs in West Africa

The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) in collaboration with Nexus Fund is pleased to welcome your application for a 5-day professional development training on Mass Atrocities Prevention (MAP) for CSOs in West Africa.

Application Deadline: 20th June, 2014

The training is open for civil society actors (CSAs) and professionals, working directly or indirectly in any field related to MAP, including peace and security, conflict/violence prevention, human rights, genocide, youth and violence, humanitarian/relief work, among others.

Applications are welcome from civil society actors from Nigeria, Liberia and Sierra Leone. The training will take place in Monrovia, Liberia.

The training seeks to deepen and enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in preventing, managing and responding to violence in a more effective, timely and productive manner; equip participants with creative and requisite skills to mobilize resources towards MAP interventions on one hand and advocate, create and manage partnerships, as well as build synergies/alliances with and among local and international actors working on MAP on the other.

Training dates:

English Training: 8th –12th September 2014 in Monrovia, Liberia (Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone)

French Training: 22nd –26th September 2014 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (Guinea, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire)

Resource Centre

The Institute has a resource centre that is open to civil society actors in the region. It serves as a library of civil society documents, research reports and edited volumes that are accessible to both individuals and organisations. The Institute has partnered the Foundation Centre to provide online learning resources and a database of grant giving institutions in the United States of America.
