West Africa Civil Society Institute Strengthening Civil Society

Situation Report: Civil Society in West Africa, 15 – 30 April 2017

Various civil society news in West Africa are captured in this edition of the Situation Report. In Guinea, PROJED and French civil society actors discuss the issue of promoting renewal and alteration for youth and women in civil society organisation.

The situation report also covers Ghana, where the West African Civil Society Institute (WACSI) is organising the second edition of its leadership programme, the Civil Society Leadership Institute (CSLI) to strengthen leadership, thinking and practice in West Africa. The programme was designed to strengthen the capacity of mid-level managers within civil society in the region, to effect social change.

These and many more interesting civil society news updates feature in this edition of the civil society situation report.

The Civil Society Situation Report is a bi-monthly synopsis of news articles compiled by WACSI on civil society and citizen engagement across West Africa. It serves as a tool to monitor the trends and changes in both fields across the regions.
