Commonwealth Foundation Grants Call Opens 1 December

In June 2015 we awarded 10 grants totaling £797,915 over three years to civil society organisations across the Commonwealth. The projects support commonwealth citizens across a range of issues including employment rights, gender equality and youth empowerment.

Job Announcement: West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change; Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant - Accra

The West African Biodiversity and Climate Change (WA BICC) program is a USAID-funded five year initiative (2015-2020). The overall goal of WA BiCC is to improve conservation and climate resilient, low emission growth across West Africa. 

WA BiCC is hiring a Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant to be based in the Accra main office.

PRESS RELEASE - Term Limits in West Africa: Civil Society organizations to urge ECOWAS

Dakar, Senegal - September 8th, 2015 – The West African Civil Society Forum (WACSOF) seeks to push the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to take the step of adopting term limits at Community level. WACSOF wants such a provision to be included in the texts governing the organization. The major Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in West Africa will be meeting in Dakar to discuss and develop a strategy for this objective.

WACSI Empowers Civil Society Practitioners with Robust Communication Skills

20 August, 2015

WACSI has played a key role in empowering fourteen civil society practitioners from five African countries with robust communication skills. This will help beneficiaries to develop communication strategies for their organisations.

Resource Centre

The Institute has a resource centre that is open to civil society actors in the region. It serves as a library of civil society documents, research reports and edited volumes that are accessible to both individuals and organisations. The Institute has partnered the Foundation Centre to provide online learning resources and a database of grant giving institutions in the United States of America.
