Bridging Troubles Waters: assessing the World Bank Water Resources Strategy
George Keith Pitman
This report examines the Bank's implementation experience of the 1993 Water Resources Management Policy to determine the relevance and efficacy of the Bank's overall water operations for its Borrowers. It evaluates the degree to which the issues identified in the guideline document Water Policy Paper (1993) have been internalized into Bank Operations, also examines the continuing relevance of the water strategy, and makes recommendations for refining Bank Policy and strategy in the water sectors.
