The Parliamentary Advocacy and Engagement(PA&E) training is designed to respond to the gap identified in the ability of civil society organisations (CSOs) to effectively engage with their national parliaments. It seeks to equip CSOs with an understanding of how to effectively engage with these legislative assemblies in ensuring effective policy formulation and implementation.
The training will enhance the participants’ knowledge of how parliaments work and provide development practitioners with the requisite knowledge, skills and techniques to effectively engage parliament and legislators to influence policy-making processes at local, national and global levels.
The training will also expose civil society activists to the law-making process and how to effectively engage parliament to ensure the formulation and implementation of policies. The training which will take place from 22 to 26 June 2020 at WACSI’s premises in Accra, Ghana. The following are the key objectives:
