The objective of this course is to provide knowledge and skills about internal governance and operational structures, processes and systems that enable civil society organisations to be legitimate, accountable, credible and transparent. It will also seek to develop insight into governance of the society and how this affects and shapes civil society configurations and management, and vice versa. This course would also emphasise on the broad understanding of civil society sustainability, which goes beyond funding dynamics and includes programmes or operations, the continuation of specific interventions as well as organisational systems. The module would provide insight into the four dimensions of civil society sustainability encompassing the continuous availability of financial resources, capacity, technical resources and administrative structures to operate programmes, the long-term existence of organisations themselves and in relation to interventions the continuity of results, impacts of specific projects after its completion or funding ends.
